ITINERARY
Itinerary Inca Trail Machu Picchu 04 Days
DAY 1: CUSCO – PISKACUCHO KM 82 – LLACTAPATA – WAYLLABAMBA
Our excursion begins with the pick up from the hotel at 4:30 am. starting with a spectacular early morning tour of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. We will go to the starting point of our walk; Km 82, arriving at this place at approximately 9 am. Here our professional guide will be happy to introduce us to the rest of the support group that will accompany us during our walk, such as porters, cooks, etc. After having met the group, we will start our walk of approximately 5 hours- This first day is light, we will have a beautiful panoramic view such as the Verónica snowfall, we will also walk along the Vilcanota river until we reach the archaeological site of Llaqtapata. There we will enjoy our lunch and then continue with the walk to our first camp in Wayllabamba where we will spend the night after dinner.

DAY 2: WAYLLABAMBA – WARMIWAÑUSCA – PACAYMAYU
After breakfast we start the most difficult part of the walk. We will begin the ascent to the highest point of the Inca Trail where you will be dazzled by an incredible panoramic view of the entire area and you will be able to observe the different types of microclimates that exist in the area. After 3 hours of walking we will pass through the pass called Warmiwañusq’a (dead woman) that is approximately. at 4,200 m.a.s.l. Here you will have great satisfaction for having reached the highest point of the entire Inca Trail. Finally we descend to Pacaymayu, where we will have lunch. We will spend the night here.

DAY 3: PACAYMAYU – PHUYUPATAMARCA – WIÑAYWAYNA
After breakfast we will begin our long and fascinating walk until we ascend to the second most important pass of the Inca Trail that is located at 3,850 meters above sea level, near the Runkarakay Archaeological Complex. We will have a guided tour of the entire complex and we will resume our walk until we reach a walled enclosure with niches that was perhaps a resting place protected by guard posts and places of worship. After crossing the second pass, we will descend to Yanacocha (La Laguna Negra) and then we will go up a path with stone stairs until we reach another group of buildings that attract the attention of visitors.
This point is called Sayaqmarka, a pre-Hispanic complex with narrow streets, buildings erected on different levels; sanctuaries, courtyards, canals and an exterior wall. It is a place full of mystery and charm, the approximate distance to Runkarakay is 5 km, which takes 2 hours, descending to an altitude of 3,600 meters above sea level. There is a great trail and tunnel through this complex.

DAY 4: WIÑAYWAYNA – MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO
Before sunrise and after breakfast, we will continue with the walk to arrive on time and be able to appreciate the sunrise in Machupicchu. After an hour of walking we will pass through the Inti Punku or Puerta del Sol, also known as the entrance door to Machupicchu, where you can appreciate the most impressive panoramic view of the entire Inca Citadel. Then we will have a guided tour for approximately 2 hours, including the surroundings of the Inca citadel, visiting the main sites such as the Enclosures, Squares, Sacred Fountains, Temples as well as the agricultural and urban sector.
After our guided tour, there will be free time for you to take photos, explore the citadel further, and finally climb the Wayna Picchu (optional). Then we will meet the rest of the group to take the bus that will take us to the town of Aguas Calientes; where you will have the option to enjoy the thermal baths. Then we will return to Ollantaytambo by train with a bus connection to Cusco, leaving you at your Hotel.
